The Winkler Community Foundation impacting our community through Grants

The Winkler Community Foundation is excited to present our 2019 Grants. This year 13 organizations will be receiving grants totalling $93,640.00. These grants are available thanks to the community and designated funds, agency funds as well as donor advised funds held at the Winkler Community Foundation.

We want to thank each organization that applied for funds. Over $146,000 in grant requests were received. We want to say thank you for the work they do in our community. Each organization impacts the community in ways that help make Winkler what we are. So Thank-You!

Each year the Winkler Community Foundation receives grant requests well beyond what we can grant out. There are so many great organizations in our community doing amazing things. We want to encourage all the organizations that applied to continue doing the work they do for our community; making Winkler and area a better place to live, work and play in.

The Winkler Community Foundation currently has a 5 year goal to reach $550,000 in the Community Fund by 2020 so there is more money to give back to these great projects. The Community Endowment fund is the general fund in which community grant requests are supported; impacting local charities for local projects. The community foundation relies on gifts in the form of donations and bequests that help to grow the community foundation’s endowment funds. These gifts are invested and the interest earned annually is granted back into our community.

A gift to the Winkler Community Foundation truly is a gift that keeps on giving back to the community year after year; Forever. To learn more about the Winkler Community Foundation go to www.winklercommunityfoundation.com .

Pay It Forward May

Pay it Forward is something we can and should be doing all year round. The Winkler Community Foundation and Morden Area Foundation has chosen one month to be more active in our efforts – not because we have to, but because we want to. Not because we’ve experienced kindness from others, but because we want to work together to make our community strong and vibrant. Pay it Forward. Inspire others. Impact our Community.
