The Winkler Community Foundation takes a broad view of what makes a community and of what it takes for a community to succeed. Our community grants support projects under that broad canopy including shelter, sustenance and care for those most in need, to recreation, the arts, and community activities for the benefit of all.

Gordon Wiebe Education Fund

Our scholarship funds support local students (up to age 30) in pursuing or completing their first program of post-secondary education:

  • Garden Valley School Division Awards ($2,000 One-time Award, non-renewable)
  • Ongoing Education Support Scholarship ($2,000 renewable up to two years)
  • Make It A Reality Scholarship ($5,000 per year up to four years)

Darlene Gale Peters Endowment Fund Grants

The purpose of this fund is to support health related grants. This includes health education programs and support programs/initiatives in the City of Winkler and surrounding area.

2014 Power Smart Manitoba Winter Games Sport Legacy Fund

Our sport legacy fund supports:

  • Opportunities for promotion and enhancement of sport leadership and/or sport development
  • Organizations for the benefit of sport
  • Projects aligned with True Sport principles
