RBC Grants $15,000 to local Teen Talk Program.

December 4, 2019

On, Wednesday, December 4th, 2019, RBC  announced Genesis House as the winner of the $15,000 grant for the Future Launch Community Challenge.

Genesis House and Samantha Toews, the future launch leader, will be launching and facilitating a new program to teach teens and young adults about healthy relationships with this grant. This Teen Talk project aims to partner with local teen clinics and schools to help spread awareness of this program.

The Winkler Community Foundation felt this partnership was a great fit to the work our board is currently doing: growing impact through grant making, supporting leadership initiatives, and building partnerships.

Teen Talk is one of 150 projects that were selected to receive a grant from RBC that partnered with many community foundations across Canada. RBC plans to continuously support Canadian youth projects by granting out $500 million over the next 10 years, in hopes of helping and preparing youth for the future.

In support of the Teen Talk project, Winkler Community Foundation is hosting a Youth Vital Conversation in early 2020, which will invite teens and young adults to participate in a conversation about community priorities for the future.

Pay It Forward May

Pay it Forward is something we can and should be doing all year round. The Winkler Community Foundation and Morden Area Foundation has chosen one month to be more active in our efforts – not because we have to, but because we want to. Not because we’ve experienced kindness from others, but because we want to work together to make our community strong and vibrant. Pay it Forward. Inspire others. Impact our Community.
