Job Title:                Community Development Coordinator

Start Date:              Fall 2024. Application review will begin in August and continue until a suitable applicant is found. 

Salary:                     $20-25 per hour

Standard Hours:   Average 15 hours per week over 52 weeks.  Hours to include attendance at meetings as required. Limited hours during summer and holidays; increased hours during peak season.

Reporting Supervisor:     Executive Director

Qualifications:                   

  • High level of demonstrated community interaction and knowledge.
  • Ability to develop trust-based relationships with community partners, donors and community’s charitable and nonprofit sector.
  • Excellent computer skills; Excel, Word, Adobe
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with numbers and budgets.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills.
  • Graphic design skills.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to organize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently at times with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to work well with small team and volunteer committees
  • Ability to update websites and manage social media.
  • Ability to flex time as required.

 

Summary of primary job functions

The Community Development Coordinator (CDC) leads the delivery, execution and monitoring of the Foundation’s Community Grant program and special events.  The position works under the direction of the executive Director and closely with the Foundation’s Grant Committee and Fund Development Committee.  Program delivery tasks are primarily carried out independently. The position exercises considerable independence and autonomy. This employee is responsible for the Winkler Community Foundation grant program; development, implementation, and administration and coordinating special events.

The Community Development Coordinator will be an integral member of the WCF team. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the delivery of WCF programs.

The Winkler Community Foundation’s Grant Program is expanding quickly. This position will require vision, planning, and development.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Nurture and develop positive working relationship with various community partners, primarily within the charitable and non-profit sector.
  • Acquire a strong knowledge of the WCF board policy, procedures and best practices.
  • Keep accurate records of grant disbursements
  • Receive applications, process and monitor grants and final reports.
  • Work with committee for grant selection.
  • Create public awareness announcements promoting Community Grant Program using multiple platforms.
  • Consult and guide charitable and non-profit organizations as they prepare a grant application.
  • Conduct site visits, to establish the organization’s capacities, program preparedness, financial stability or as an evaluation method.
  • Connect sound grant applications with Donor Advised Fund Holders or field of Interest Funds, for recommendation, to fulfill a Funds’ core purpose and/or criteria.
  • Research, evaluate grant program.

Other Tasks

  1. Assist in event planning as directed by committee leaders or Executive Director
  2. Assist and support other staff and volunteers involved in WCF projects and programs (including Vital signs)
  3. Complete administrative projects by identifying and implementing new technology and resources; redesigning systems; making recommendations to improve the impact of the foundation in our community.
  4. Other tasks as assigned by Executive Director

Looking for someone to be in the office part-time. Hybrid work schedule is an option.
