The Winkler Community Foundation is excited to announce the creation of a new award from the Gordon Wiebe Education Fund: The Winkler Community Foundation RRC Polytech Award.

This award is created to provide financial assistance to students from Winkler (and the GVSD catchment area) who attend any RRC Polytech campus and are pursuing a short-term program or are studying part-time. The award is worth $1,000 and there are multiple awards available each year. Interested students can view the award on the RRC website under “General Awards” and apply through the financial aid office at Red River College.

Since 2017, the Gordon Wiebe Education Fund has supported young people from Winkler and the surrounding area to pursue their dreams and goals of post-secondary education. However, not all students qualify for the current awards, so the Winkler Community Foundation RRC Polytech Award was created to support students who are studying part-time at RRC or are in a short-term program such as studying towards becoming a health care aide. Our hope is that this award can financially support even more young people in the area and be a great help in paying for tuition expenses.

We are excited to partner with Red River College Polytech to support even more young people in a wide range of studies and pursuits.

This year there are five $1,000 awards available through Red River College for eligible students.
