Our purpose is simple! One random act of kindness has the strength and power to create a long lasting effect in our community. Kindness is simply a positive action that leaves someone in a better situation than before. It takes away the focus from ourselves and it sparks generosity and gratitude in others. When we look beyond our own needs and help someone else, we better our community in more ways than one.
Pay It Forward May is important to the health and well-being of our community by creating a better place to live, work and play in. So help us work together to inspire others and create a long lasting impact with kindness.
There is strength in kindness, which is what our communities need at this moment. Plan ahead and PAY IT FORWORD.
We are encouraging organizations, businesses, schools, and the community to create your own pay it forward initiative or random act of kindness. But here are some ideas that we love!
Part of the beauty of this initiative is that it doesn’t have to cost a cent. A simple smile. Hold the door open for another. Mow neighbors yard. Donate to local charities. Compliment a stranger. Write a letter to someone close.
Over the past year, there has been so much kindness shared. Our community members have been stepping up to help during the most difficult and unknown time.
Everything from delivering groceries, stocking shelves, helping families with at-home learning, supporting teachers, bringing meals to front-line workers, adjusting programming to stay connected, has been exciting to see our community come together.
Please help preserve these stories of kindness by sharing the random acts of kindness that you see on Facebook, Instagram, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Remember to use the hashtag #pifmay and tag the Winkler Community Foundation and Morden Area Foundation!
